In this unit pupils will be introduced to the GameMaker Game Editor programming environment and begin by reverse-engineering an existing game. They will then progress to planning and developing their own games, learning to incorporate variables, events and actions, and making use of object-orientated programming techniques. They will program player movement, enemy collisions and the collection of objects to win their games. Finally they will learn to test and debug their programs. Assessment will be by means of an Assessment Portfolio.
What's included in the toolkit?
The currently available units have been written to satisfy the new National Curriculum for Computing, they are designed for teaching at KS3 but individual lessons in some units may also be appropriate for teaching Key Stages 2 or 4, particularly where Year 10 students may not previously have been exposed to certain topics.

The GameMaker unit from PG Online that I have just received is full of everything I need to teach from KS3 all the way to KS5 and my colleagues too.
