There are 4 worksheets and five homework sheets to accompany this unit.
Summary
In this unit pupils will undertake a creative project to analyse, plan, shoot and edit a short advertisement for TV. The final video they create will be either 30 or 60 seconds to fit with the slots given by broadcast companies. Pupils start by analysing existing TV advertisements. Once they understand camera techniques such as shot types, angles and camera movement, they begin planning their own adverts. Pupils will work in small groups to produce a script and storyboard before they film and edit their adverts. In the video editing stage, pupils will add background music to their adverts to help add emotion to their final product.
The unit provides a solid foundation to the job roles, use of scripts, storyboards and video editing required in the Cambridge National in Creative iMedia and are an excellent introduction to the key skills in video production.
This unit uses OpenShot, a free open source editing software program, but it can equally be used with any other timeline-based video editing program the school may prefer to use.

PG Online resources are very well planned and easy to use. Inspection copies are also useful as this enables me to make better choices with our limited budgets.
