Lesson 6 Detecting and preventing cyber security threats
Lesson 7 Assessment
There are 6 worksheets, 6 homework tasks, and an examination-style assessment test, each with answers included in this unit.
This unit is subdivided into six learning hours spread across six lessons, plus a test, in order to fit with most school timetables. It is a theoretical unit covering Section 5 of the Edexcel GCSE (9-1) 1CP1 Computer Science specification. Each lesson contains a worksheet to be done in class to consolidate students’ knowledge and understanding, as well as a homework sheet to give them plenty of practice in answering exam-type questions.
The unit starts with a description of how the Internet is structured, and what is meant by the World Wide Web. It also covers wireless networks. Lesson 2 covers different types of network (LAN and WAN) and different network topologies, and Lesson 3 describes the role of different protocols and the layers in the TCP/IP protocol stack. The lessons move on to network security issues and threats, with a look at different ways our networks can be made more secure.
At the end of the unit, students sit an assessment test comprising questions similar to those found on the Edexcel exam paper.
The GCSE units have been written to satisfy the specification for the theoretical element 1CP1 of the Edexcel Computer Science GCSE. They are also suitable for the IGCSE 4CP0 qualification. Each units contains:
PowerPoint slides for each lesson
Detailed lesson plans
Learning objectives and outcomes
Worksheets and homework activities with answers
End-of-unit Assessment test with answers

What people say...
The fact that the resources are so thorough and there is a WS and HWK for every lesson, has saved me a huge amount of planning time as there is already plenty for students to do.

I get offered probably every IGCSE, OCR and AQA resource pack out there and have seen most. I can tell you without doubt yours are the best. Your resources are head and shoulders above the rest.
