NEW for the 2025 AAQ specification.

These resources cover Learning Aim B (B1 and B2) of the specification and are subdivided into eight topics plus an end-of-unit assessment. Each topic contains enough content for one to two lessons material. The resources contain case studies and example along with opportunities for students to create assets for use in working sample web pages that are provided.

The first topic looks at wireframes and the various ways these are used to plan the design of web pages. In the second topic students will look at various design ideas and how they can be reviewed against the target audience and purpose. The third topic looks at how students can source assets including websites that are appropriate for professional use and also those which are more likely to be used in the assessment. Two further topics cover image editing and image manipulation using bitmap software. These also include techniques that will help students create images for their websites that will have maximum impact. The tasks given are appropriate for completion using most graphics editing products with both paid and free options given. Topic 6 covers vector graphics along with practical tasks. Whilst any vector graphic editing software can be used, the worksheet gives explicit help for use with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft PowerPoint. The video editing unit enables students to create videos which they then insert into a working website. Finally file formats and asset management are covered in topic 8.

A final assessment is also given for students to demonstrate their understanding of the topics before attempting the Pearson Set Assignment Brief.
