This engaging pack of resources covers the second part of Learning Aim B2: Design Documentation, and B3: Reviewing and Refining Designs. The pack is subdivided into six topics plus an end‑of‑unit assessment, with each lesson containing enough material for one to two lessons.

Realistic databases are considered, along with real‑world uses for each of the features.

The pack begins with a thorough look at queries and how they are designed, including multiple criteria, form values, wildcards, calculated queries, and action queries.

The second topic considers the design of reports. In particular, it looks at layout and presentation, along with more advanced features such as calculated fields, grouping, and conditional formatting. Topic 3 covers automation, with practical examples of both macros and program code using VBA.

Topic 4 considers how to construct test plans that are appropriate for the designs that have been created. The fifth topic focuses on how to create simple and effective implementation plans. The final topic looks at how students can review and refine their designs.

An optional final assessment is included to gauge student understanding prior to them embarking on the PSAB.
