This is a complete text that provides detailed and concise coverage of all the topics and disciplines covered in the new Edexcel 1DT0 Design and Technology (9-1) specification, written and presented in a way that is accessible to teenagers and easy to teach from. It will be invaluable both as a course text and as a revision guide for students nearing the end of their course.

It is divided into neat sections covering every element of the specification. Sections 6-1 to 6-6 of the textbook cover each of the six specialist material categories.  These sections would complement practical classroom experience.

Solutions to all questions and exercises will be provided in a free teacher pack available on our website.

To accompany this textbook, PG Online also publishes a series of 11 downloadable teaching units. Each topic in a unit consists of a PowerPoint presentation, teacher’s notes, worksheets, homework sheets and a final assessment test with practice questions. Each topic within a unit is expected to be taught over several lessons in a week. Units are sold as a lifetime site licence and may be loaded onto the school’s private network or VLE.

What people say...

I really like the resources, indepth and easy to use.

Leslie Mohally. Head of ICT and Computer Science, Swans International Sierra Blanca

I am really pleased with the resources for the Unit 8 'Crude Oil and Fuels' so far. As I am non-specialist teaching the new specification of AQA GCSE Chemistry for the first time this year, these resources have been invaluable to me. The presentations are thorough and well illustrated. The teacher guide and power point presentation leads you through the topics logically. This has been particularly useful as I have been tasked with picking up this course with students that are already midway through their GCSE and the commentary has provided me with useful guidance of what students should have covered in earlier modules and there are also activities that recap earlier learning. The fact that the resources are so thorough and there is a WS and HWK for every lesson, has saved me a huge amount of planning time as there is already plenty for students to do. All I have had to do is add a little further differentiated practice as and when my students needed it. I will definitely be looking at buying other modules too.
