Summary

The unit is subdivided into six topics, expected to be taught across roughly six weeks of lessons, plus a test, in order to fit with most school timetables. It is a theoretical unit covering the relevant sections of the AQA AS Level Computer Science specification. The unit is designed to allow AS students to be taught at the same time as students taking the full A Level.

Six topics in this unit cover data representation of numbers, text, images and sound, with the final topic explaining and giving examples of the uses of data compression and encryption. The beautifully illustrated PowerPoint slides, interactive style of the lesson plans, challenging and imaginative worksheets and graded examples in the homework will all help to ensure the class is fully engaged.

What people say...

We just received your AS text books, they look great, nice and easy to follow and pitched at a level that makes them accessible for the students.

Gavin Donaghy. Head of Computing, Graveney School

The resources we have purchased have been brilliant. Using the PG Online modules has allowed us to focus our time and efforts on planning and providing support to the pupils in our classes, rather than creating resources from scratch.

Bryan Owen. Computing Teacher, King Edmund School
