There are 6 worksheets, homework tasks and an assessment in this unit.
Summary - Out now
Developing sketching, drawing and computer modelling skills using CAD software.
This hands-on unit follows a series of easy-to-follow tasks that develop students’ drawing and modelling skills. The unit moves quickly from basic to advanced drawing and modelling activities offering an easily extendable variety of skills based lessons. Students are encouraged to work out which is the most appropriate format to use for specific tasks. The unit concludes in the development of CAD models using freely available software.
Access to a computer suite will be required for the final challenge in SketchUp.
A support tutorial is included for students to use the new online version of SketchUp at home.
What's included in the toolkit?
The currently available units have been written to satisfy the new National Curriculum for Design and Technology. They are designed for teaching at KS3 but individual lessons in some units may also be appropriate for teaching Key Stages 2 or 4, particularly where Year 10 students may not previously have been exposed to certain topics.
Thank you so much for making something that seemed daunting, so manageable and teachable.
Miss Catriona O’Connor. Design and Technology Teacher, Redruth School

I have been pleased with the quality of the resources. Your excellent resources have been a great timesaver and have really helped with planning lessons especially for lessons being delivered by people who are not subject specialists.
